Producers apparently told the acting guilds it was either accept now, or they'd wait until next year before another offer would happen.
The deal includes, "includes pay increases higher than what other unions received this year, a "streaming participation bonus" and regulations on AI.
The tentative deal also includes higher caps on health and pension funds, compensation bumps for background performers and "critical contract provisions protecting diverse communities." --------------------------
So, as yours truly predicted right from the start of the strike, no residuals based on stream views, no prohibition of AI, and no residuals for extras used as background assets for SFX shots.
Basically, they got a raise which will likely merely keep pace with Biden-flation (if that).
Hard to understand just how stupid the unions were to ever believe for one second that the streaming services would ever release actual number of views, numbers which are far below what the studios told investors.
In the end, a huge loss for the actors who - given the fact they just missed out on 4 months worth of income - got virtually none of the things they demanded. The writers - unsurprisingly - far smarter.
On a positive note for actors, they presumably can go dressed up as movie characters for next Halloween, something the guilds told them not to do this year. VICTORY!!!!

Actors were on strike? Since when?
The zero fucks given by the general public also a part of why they finally gave in.
