If Unreal looks that good in 2023, what will it look like in 2033? Such programs will continue to look better while also becoming easier and faster to use. Chatgdp and other AI programs will continue to do the same.
Yet another reason why producers will never give the writers and actors the deal they are seeking - they are both becoming increasingly irrelevant.
None of that bodes well for the industry... Or does it?
That's because of course that industry is already quite ill without AI - outside of a few smash hits like MAVERICK and BARBIE, Hollywood movies have lost billions of dollars in the past few years. Disney alone has lost over a billion dollars in the past year alone.
Cable TV and streaming services have also lost billions as millions of subscribers "cut the cord" while production costs have spiraled out of control. For example, Netflix spent $200,000,000 on a Ryan Gosling movie called THE GREY MAN. Simply put, there is no way Netflix could possibly generate enough new subs to pay for that movie, much less all the rest of their new content. Other providers, like Amazon, have done the same - Amazon spent over a billion on their LORD OF THE RINGS series, which got poor ratings (and reviews).
Over the Air TV not doing much better as ad rates have plummeted in the past 2 years as more and more people a) cut the cord, and b) simply stop watching TV altogether.
In other words, AI generated content could hardly be worse than the human counter-part in the past 5 years.
