The decision to buy the rights to the soft core child porn flick CUTIES, then defend the decision (as well as about 100 other dumb ideas), continues to haunt Netflix as they announced another round of firings today, this time from their animation department.
That they green-lit a Meagan Markle cartoon should be all you need to know about their decision making process (they've since cancelled it because reasons).
200,000 subs already left this year with a staggering 2,000,000 more expected by year's end. They already have the dubious decision of being the worst performing stock on the S&P 500, and it looks to get even worse.
Netflix went all in on original programing vs expanding their movie library, and that decision looks to have been a really bad one. Even when they have a hit show, like STRANGER THINGS, they for some unknown reason never bothered to sign the cast to long term, cheap, contracts - which means the cost for producing the show has exploded.
Their movie library is not only small, it never seems to expand - meaning that once you've looked at all of them, there's no real reason to go back.
