...And another dem just announced their retirement: "California Democratic Rep Alan Lowenthal Announces Retirement Lowenthal, who was first elected to California’s Long Beach-based 47th district in 2012, is the 20th House Democrat to announce they would not seek reelection ahead of the 2022 midterms. He said in a statement that it was “time to pass the baton.” ---------------------------------------
Now, the chances of him being replaced by a republican are small, but then again I would have said the same thing about Virginia.
And Joe's not even been on the job for 11 months yet.

...And another dem retires: "New Jersey Rep. Albio Sires (D-NJ) will not seek reelection in 2022 and will retire after his current term in the House is complete, becoming the twenty-first Democrat to announce an exit from the House of Representatives, according to the New Jersey Globe." -------------------------- Joe Biden - still not a full 11 months into the job - may well be the most unpopular President in the nation's history. A new NPR/PBS poll has Biden at a 55% disapproval rating, a new high. When you consider the source of the poll, the real numbers are likely much worse for "Iron" Joe.
But as bad as the 21 House dems saying buh bye is for Biden, the fact that he's enraged Joe Manchin, a dem senator from W Virginia, may be worse.
Manchin refused to vote for Biden's $5,000,000,000 unpaid for "build back better" plan yesterday, prompting the White House to accuse Manchin of "disloyalty".
Which of course is hilarious given that Biden promised W Virginians that he wouldn't try to gut the coal industry... which he then immediately did on his first day.
Manchin, who crazily enough wants to be re-elected, has decided that maybe just maybe tying his political fortunes to Biden is a bad idea is now reportedly thinking about leaving the democrat party entirely.
If he did, then dems and republicans would have the exact same number of senators.
All the of the above is really strange when you consider that Joe Biden received more votes then any other person in this nation's history, a full 81 million of them.
In any event it's yet another humiliating defeat for Biden, who cleared his schedule today, refusing to speak to reporters... who might start asking him questions other than what his favorite flavor of ice cream is.

And the day's not even out from the last post, and another dem announcing her retirement: "Rep. Stephanie Murphy Becomes 22nd Incumbent House Democrat to Forgo Reelection Bid in 2022 Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) will not seek reelection to the House next year. Congresswoman Murphy serves on the sham January 6 committee." ------------------------------- It's that last bit that guarantees her loss next November in the now red Florida. Unlike most of those retiring so far, Murphy is under the age of 80, making the loss to the dems a bit worse. She's now the 22nd dem to announce retirement before 2021 expires.

...And another one bites the dust: "Democratic California Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard will not seek reelection to a sixteenth term in Congress, she announced Monday night. “After thirty years in the House of Representatives, the time has come for me to spend more time with my family. Therefore, I have decided not to seek reelection,” she tweeted. ----------------------------- She becomes the 23rd dem house member (5th from California) to announce that she, "Needs to spend more time with the family." dailycaller.com/2021/12/21/following-redistricting-long-time-california-rep-lucille-roybal-allard-announces-retirement/

From CNN today.... "Biden's economic ratings are worse than Carter's President Joe Biden is struggling in the minds of the American public. While his approval rating is down on a slew of issues, his difficulties are perhaps most noticeable on the economy. Biden now sports the lowest net economic rating of any president at this point through their first term since at least Jimmy Carter in 1977." -------------------------------------------------
When CNN turns its back on a democrat President, you truly know it's a shit show.
It's increasingly likely that the dems themselves - no doubt helped by usefuls like Mitt Romney and "Cocaine" Mitch McConnel - will try to 25th Joe themselves.

...And the 24th dem announces that they're quitting: "Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., said he is retiring from Congress after having served 15 terms since he was first elected in 1992, according to a Monday report from the Chicago Sun-Times. Rush, a 75-year-old former Black Panther who also served as a Chicago alderman, told the Sun-Times that he decided to retire in recent weeks after a conversation with his 19-year-old grandson, Jonathan." ---------------------------------
15 terms huh? Oddly enough, Cook County just set a record for homicides in 2021 as Chicago remained the murder capital of the USA.
Congrats Chicago - you beat Baltimore's 337 murders for 2021 with more than 800!
Sadly, Chicago politics being what they are, another dem will simply Rush's spot. You know, because people love 15 term congressmen who help their community.
To recap, Joe's still not been President for a year, and his party has already lost 24 members congress.

"Iron" Joe Biden today had yet more salt poured into what is now a gaping wound as he fell even lower in popularity according to a poll released today: "Biden's approval rating is down to 33%, with 53% disapproving of his job performance. That's a 3-percentage-point decline from his 36% approval rating in the same poll in November. The new poll was taken Jan. 7 to Jan. 10. It's a triple-whammy for Biden. His handling of ... - the economy: 34% approve, while 57% disapprove; - foreign policy: 35% approve, while 54% disapprove; - the response to the coronavirus: 39% approve, while 55% disapprove." ---------------------------- This despite 38% of the population being registered democrats. No wonder that 2 long time dems today suggested that Hillary Clinton replace the sagging Biden: "A perfect storm in the Democratic Party is making a once-unfathomable scenario plausible: a political comeback for Hillary Clinton in 2024. Several circumstances--President Biden's low approval rating, doubts over his capacity to run for re-election at 82, Vice President Kamala Harris's unpopularity, and the absence of another strong Democrat to lead the ticket in 2024--have created a leadership vacuum in the party, which Mrs. Clinton viably could fill. She is already in an advantageous position to become the 2024 Democratic nominee. She is an experienced national figure who is younger than Mr. Biden and can offer a different approach from the disorganized and unpopular one the party is currently taking." -----------------------------------------
So younger & more "moderate" huh WSJ? Joe - who still has yet to be Prez for a year - will face enormous pressure both before the 2022 election and even more after to announce he's not running again from his own party.
They already know the midterms are gone, and with dreams of Trump dancing through their heads on a nightly basis, fear that they'll get shelled in 2024 too.

It's so bad they're desperately trying to change the Senate rules to favor them once they're out of power.
It shouldn't work, and even if it did, it would effectively wipe them out, but it will backfire either way.

EVEN as Joe Biden celebrates 1 year in office today, yet another long sitting dem announced they're retiring from Congress: "Eleven-term Democratic Rhode Island Rep. Jim Langevin announced Tuesday that he will not run for reelection in 2022. “I have not come to this decision lightly, but it is time for me to chart a new course, which will allow me to stay closer to home and spend more time with my family and friends,” he added in an op-ed in The Providence Journal." ----------------------------------- Say what you will about "Iron" Joe Biden - who coincidentally saw a new record low poll number today - he sure is making democrats release that they need to spend more time with family.
A bit more about those horrific poll numbers. They come from Politico so if anything they're being generous to Joe.
Even so, only 40 percent of voters approve of Biden’s job performance, while fifty-six percent disapprove of his job performance.
Which is a sure sign that eve more dems will want to spend more time with their families this November.

Yet more indication that Joe is sinking his party is that ultra-liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Bryer just announced he's retiring. Apparently he knows the dems will lose the mid-terms so badly that Joe will be unable to confirm any of his picks.
Rumors already swirling Joe will pick Kamala Harris in a 2 birds, one stone, effort. Hard to imagine anyone more unqualified for the job, thus it makes sense that Joe would try it.
Of course for dems, replacing Harris is now necessary if there's any chance of removing Joe before the 2022 mid-terms as she might be the only one in that party more up-popular than Biden. No sense in replacing him for her, at least politically.
Speaking of that, the latest polls are out and now show that "Iron" Joe is now more unpopular than at any point in Trump's Presidency, a shocking fact considering the non-stop pearl clutching the media did over Trump's "Russian collusion" (and subsequent burying of any negative news about Joe).

Now if we can just get the nutless, gutless Republicans to wait this out and not do anything, then when they sweep the Democrats out of office (God willing), just roadblock everything.
Play hardball for once, you spineless swine.

Filemon Vela of Texas said Thursday he will soon leave office for a job in the private sector rather than finish what was already his final term in Congress. The five-term South Texas congressman confirmed he was taking a job with Akin Gump, a law and lobbying firm. Vela, who was among the first House Democrats to announce he would not seek reelection in 2022, said he has not yet determined the date of his final day in office. “I’m just ready to move on,” he said.---------------------- I think by November, a great many Americans will be ready for his party to move on.....
