Not even St. Thomas Cruise the First is immune to the actor's strike, which is now rolling into it's 4th month.
The last IM movie under-performed, grossing "only" $568 million at the box office. Some of that poor showing was blamed on the fact that it is a 2-parter.
Obviously the next movie's performance is potentially affected by the delay, and is perhaps the biggest movie to effected by the strike so far.
As far as that goes, there's been no movement - apparently the two sides aren't even at the negotiating table right now.
Again, there are some things the studios simply will not cave on, something that's only now dawning on them.
Bottom line though is that if MISSION IMPOSSIBLE can be delayed, anything can.
