I knew it was coming out, but didn't know it was already at theaters.
I question the strategy of releasing horror movies in the springtime - REINFIELD is/was a giant flop despite looking like a fun movie. I blame a lot of that on the timing.
While it's true that some horror movies have had success in April - THE MUMMY (1999) being the prime example as it's success lead Hollywood to un-officially moving summer releases up. But that was more of an action movie with horror elements in it; basically a TEMPLE OF DOOM type of movie.
Considering how many ads I've seen for NEFARIOUS, I'm surprised it doesn't have a bigger release.
Meanwhile, MARIO BROS, a big, bright, fun movie - is #1 for the 3rd week in a row.
Of course, NEFARIOUS going up against EVIL DEAD RISE (which was 2nd this weekend with $23 million gross) probably wasn't a great idea either.
