HALLOWEEN KILLS grossed $50.5 million domestic over the weekend, crushing the far more expensive James Bond flick NO TIME TO DIE and Ridley Scott's latest crap heap, THE LAST DUEL.
HALLOWEEN KILLS reportedly cost $20 million to make before ads. iT was projected to take in $30 mil, and is now the largest opening of the year, so it's already a big success.
Meanwhile, NO TIME TO DIE has grossed almost $450 million after 2 weeks of release, but is still short of breaking even thanks to its massive budget and giant ad campaign. BUT, it looks to have better legs than most movies so will probably go into the black.
Lastly, THE LAST DUEL - which inexplicably has Matt........... Damon playing a medieval knight - super bombed. Ridley Scott's casting apparently also befuddled audiences, as it opened in 5th place with $4.8 mil gross.
Hopefully this will convince people to stop giving Scott money to make movies. God bless him, no one loves ALIEN or BLADE RUNNER more than me, but GLADIATOR was the last thing he made that was even remotely watchable, and that was 21 years ago.
