...And it isn't likely to get better anytime soon as Hollywood's distaste for the people who buy their product is now firmly coming home to roost:
"Major studios, streamers, cable providers, and other media giants lost a combined $542 billion in market value in 2022, with left-wing studios the Walt Disney Co., Netflix, and Comcast accounting for the bulk of the bloodshed.
The Dow Jones Media Titans index, which tracks the performance of 30 of the world’s biggest media companies, shed 40 percent this year, with its total market value declining from $1.35 trillion to $808 billion, according to a Financial Times report."

An old indie B-movie distributor once said that individually the audience is an idiot, but collectively, they are a genius. Modern Hollywood producers seem to have forgotten that pearl of wisdom.
The cause of the disaster is 3 fold, a combination of listless totally derivative product, an ever louder demand for their would-be audience to worship at the alter of homosexuality & pedophilia, and advertisers slashing their commercial buys as the economy continues to shutter to a stop.
And it isn't just an ever growing sexualization of children and crushing of any narrative at odds with their dubious morality, but also a penchant for support of big government. One of the hallmark of movies from the '70's & '80's - arguably the most creative period of film making history - was near universal disrespect for government.
All of Spielberg's films from this time had element of distrust in government - The mayor in JAWS keeping the beaches open, the government lying through their teeth in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3rd KIND, the gun totting feds in ET, the giant warehouse of magical goods in RAIDERS. George Lucas's villains in STAR WARS was the imperial government. From SMOKEY & THE BANDIT to 3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR to RAMBO to DAY DAY AFTERNOON to BLUES BROTHERS, film after film depicted the government in a negative light.
Flash forward to today and we still see the same intellectual properties in re-tread after re-tread, but with none of the joy, originality, or distrust of big government. Dry, joyless, sexless, and humorless films now issue worth one after another, each one a bit more bland and divorced from reality. Each more more self-censoring than the last.
And all of this happened in about 10 years time. In 2012's THE AVENGERS, Captain America says, "There's only one God, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." Flash forward to today, and there's zero chance the same character says the same thing....
..Nor any other character in any other major movie without Tom Cruise in it.
Now when a horrible movie like the truly awful GHOSTBUSTERS remake flop, producers in Hollywood blame "racists/sexists/gay hater's" and not themselves for their self-created disasters. Think of all the terrible movies spit out in the past 10 years - GHOSTBUSTERS, STAR WARS sequels, HAN SOLO, AVATAR II, anything with George Clooney - the 2010's and '20's are arguably the worst in the history of film.
Hollywood can not long survive if they continue down this path, but from their "stars" to the producers & writers to the giant conglomerations that fund all of it, they simply may be too committed to their beliefs to steer back to the middle of the road.
This is perhaps best seen in the self-suicide of Disney, who against all sound business sense has pushed sexuality into their children's films and into their culture. Their wokeness only matched by the giant pile of money they have lost - Disney expects to lose $1.5 billion in this year alone.
Preaching a highly dubious set of moralities while delivering ever more bland dreck isn't working, but they might not know any other way.
