IT DOESN'T take a genius to predict that China - who was just handed Afghanistan on a plate thanks to a series of mis-steps by top brass & President Joe Biden bordering on treason by the US - would soon take a hard look at Taiwan, a country they have long desired.
Beyond all manner of blackmail material they may have on the Prez, his family, and other top players, the US military has for a long time now apparently been more concerned with any but being good at war - something the Chinese can't help but notice....
"TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — The Chinese military flew 16 warplanes over waters south of Taiwan on Sunday as the United States expressed concern about what it called China’s “provocative military action” near the self-governing island that China claims.
China sent 38 warplanes into the area on Friday and 39 aircraft on Saturday, the most in a single day since Taiwan began releasing reports on the flights in September 2020. The flights came in daytime and nighttime sorties, and it wasn’t clear if China was planning more flights on Sunday night.
A statement from U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price warned that China’s military activity near Taiwan risks miscalculation and undermines regional peace and stability.
“We urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic, and economic pressure and coercion against Taiwan,” the statement said." ------------------------------------------------
Joe Biden then went on to say, "Stop, or I'll say stop again."
Oddly enough, language that can't even be described as stern hasn't deterred China from more military exercises clearly aimed at war.
For some reason, China isn't shaking in their boots.

Wouldn't it be funny if somehow, through some miracle, Taiwan ends up kicking the shit out of China?
Like they've got some kind of miracle weapons that like totally wipe them out?

I'm here to tell you: Taiwan has not been sitting on it's hands, waiting for China. They are ready to inflict serious damage on their larger neighbor. They aren't fools.

Taiwan's about 100 miles off the coast of China. That's a plus in one sense, as even the mighty German army in WWII could not cross 22 miles of the English channel to invade the UK. But the Chinese Navy is technically the largest on earth; far greater than anything the Germans had in WWII. But most of their strength is small ships, with only 2 aircraft carriers (2 more currently being built as we speak). Yet if they continue to strengthen their naval arm at the same pace they've kept up since the '90's, by 2030 the Chinese fleet will have a surface force of over 450 ships and a submarine force of about 110 boats. The number of actual landing craft - key to an invasion - is unknown and likely to be higher than western powers account for. It is known that they introduced the Type 075 amphibious landing craft last year, a boat perfect for an invasion of Taiwan. Either way, our intel on the Chinese military is now obviously very suspect - we have no real way of knowing what they have sitting in warehouses. The Chinese leadership, fire control techniques, pilot abilities, and other intangibles won't be known unless shooting actually starts, but presumably western powers would - on paper - have the advantage in such things. But the last few years have also shown that top US military brass are more worried about hurt feelings than hurting enemies, so it could be advantage China. You'd have to give the Chinese a presumable advantage in terms of aggressiveness and effective leadership. One doubts that Chinese commanders are spending much time on critical race theory or other decidedly non-combat orientated issues.
And hey, speaking of that, this is a headline from this very afternoon:
"Rachel Levine sworn in as first openly transgender four-star admiral" -----------------------------------------
At a guess, I doubt there's a similar story about Chinese military leadership...
Notably, the 100 mile distance between countries means that the lack of carriers is negated, as well as the need for landing craft - the Chinese seem to be more than willing to beach a destroyer (or whatever)to get troops on land if that's what it takes. Short of invasion, the Chinese might simply try to bottleneck/blockade Taiwan. Like all island countries, Taiwan is mighty susceptible to such tactics. Any western power trying to interfere would have a much longer supply line, and all the possible negative problems associated with this issue. It's an interesting war game to be sure and only China knows what will happen next. In the end, Taiwan would not last long without substantial help from the US, and given who the C&C is, that help is very doubtful.
Hey, those are great ear rings!

So....how did you go from senior citizen executioner (except your own mother, of course) to...some kind of Naval officer in such a short span? It's just another exercise in meaninglessness and indulgent insanity.

'Member when I said, "But the last few years have also shown that top US military brass are more worried about hurt feelings than hurting enemies, so it could be advantage China"? Well this story just broke this morning: " Navy Reveals Findings From Investigation Into Fire That Lasted 5 Days, Destroyed Ship
The Navy announced several failures caused by commanders, crew members and other sailors that led to a five-day-long fire in July 2020 that destroyed the USS Bonhomme Richard, the Associated Press reported. One sailor, Seaman Apprentice Ryan Sawyer Mays, was charged with aggravated arson and willful hazarding of a vessel while another 36 crew members’ actions led or contributed to the blaze that destroyed the ship, according to a U.S. Navy report, reviewed by the AP. The Navy also announced failures in training, coordination, communication, fire preparedness, equipment maintenance and overall command on the ship. The Navy concluded the report by saying the “inadequately prepared crew” failed to respond and delivered “an ineffective fire response.”
-------------------------------------------------
Yeah, but beside failures in training, leadership, keeping shit fixed, and having a crap crew & captain, they did great!
On a positive note, we're still the first - and only! - country in the history of the world with a transsexual admiral. So we got that going for us....
Something tells me the Chinese Navy isn't shaking in their boots from fear.

If the goal was to embolden our much more traditional enemies, then mission accomplished. To wit, read this unfortunate fact....
While driving his Third Army to relieve Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, Gen. George Patton would have been outranked by first transgender admiral Rachel Levine.
So you have nothing to worry about Taiwan!

So you have nothing to worry about Taiwan!
On second thought, they better start worrying:
"China Violates Taiwan’s Airspace amid Xi-Biden Video Call
On Monday evening, even as Chinese dictator Xi Jinping was holding a virtual summit with President Joe Biden, Chinese warplanes once again entered Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
It was the 14th such intrusion since the beginning of November." -------------------------------
Kinda hard to believe Xi would have done the same with Reagan - or even Trump - in similar circumstances, ain't it?
And 14 violations in as many days? Right now, the only thing preventing China from invading right now is bad press before the winter Olympics, which are being held in China in February.
At this point I'd wager a spring offensive is more likely than not, unless Xi really loves saber rattling.
Which is going to be very hard for the media to cover for. True, there are literally thousands of Americans still in Afghanistan after being abandoned, but a full scale invasion of Taiwan would be much harder to downplay.
Of course when you have a President and staff who, with a straight face, tells you that inflation is a good thing and that the boarder is under control, then anything is possible.
So get ready for smear pieces from the usual suspects about how Taiwan is bad and evil and deserves to be ground into dust.
If you still doubt that, this is what the Prez had to say after his meeting with XI
"We are not encouraging independence,” Biden said, repeatedly saying that “nothing” would happen on the issue of Taiwan.
“We’re encouraging that they do exactly what the Taiwan Act requires, and that’s what we’re doing,” he continued. “Let them make up their mind. Period.”
Biden repeatedly cited the Taiwan Act.
“Nothing happens. We’re not going to change our policy at all,” he clarified. ---------------------
The Taiwan act does not recognize Taiwan as an independent country and only allows US military help if used in a "defensive" measure. But not if the evil Taiwanese invade China first!
Why, you can almost see the dead political prisoners dressed in Taiwan military garb taking over a Chinese radio station now....
They're best friends foreva!

WELL, now that President Joe Biden's policy of telling Russia, "Stop, or I'll say stop again!" has, unexpectedly, failed, smart money says to expect China to invade Taiwan. China issued a statement today telling the world that, unlike the Ukraine's relationship with Russia, Taiwan has "always been a part of China," in a factually dubious but equally ominous warning of their intent. It's odd that countries with potential mountains of blackmail material on the current Commander in Chief, namely Russia and China, would feel so emboldened to go to war 13 months into Biden's term, when they didn't didn't do something similar in 4 years under Trump. Particularly because Trump's a Russian pawn and all. So anyway, expect the Chinese to invade Taiwan just as soon as the weather provides the best conditions. You sure did!

You ready for more good news? Just this week two of our trading partners, Saudi Arabia and India, have had talks with Russia and China about dumping the US petrol dollar in favor of either the petrol ruble or the petrol yuan.
If the US dollar loses its status as the world reserve currency, it will not matter what China does to Taiwan, we will be unable to respond in any event. We would instantly be thrust into a hyperinflation spiral that will make the Weimar Republic look like a temporary dip in stock market.
Fucked beyond repair.
Will become an agricultural barter state.

So just a matter of time now..... "Chinese Military Surrounds Taiwan In Massive ‘Rehearsal’ Of Invasion Plans The Chinese military encircled Taiwan from the east and west, cutting the island off from American and Japanese forces during a large-scale war game which concluded Sunday, Chinese state-run media reported Monday. China’s Eastern Theater Command executed aerial, naval and ballistic “real force” drills in the waters to the east and southwest of Taiwan from Friday to Sunday, Global Times reported. As the massive Liaoning aircraft carrier fleet moved in from Taiwan’s east, warplanes and additional warships reportedly arrived from the west. Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense claims to have spotted 31 Chinese aircraft." ---------------------------- There's been some discussion about how Russia's debacle in Ukraine might either deter and/or encourage the Chinese to invade Taiwan. I doubt it's affected Chinese thinking at all - they were always going to invade. That fact was double-cemented when Biden won election. dailycaller.com/2022/05/10/china-taiwan-invasion-military-liaoning-aircraft-carrier-uss-abraham-lincoln/
