The NFL will begin it's new season tonight, on NBC, with the defending champs - Tom Brady's Buccaneers - vs the Dallas Cowboys.
The league took it on the chin a bit last year with empty stadiums and lower TV ratings - thanks to BLM-style protests by its players & owners - but looks to rebound this season.
So I'm guessing there will be less kneeling, but still more lips service. Helmets will still feature BLM or similar stickers on them, and there will no doubt be ridiculous self-serving ads from the NFL featured.
But the game itself remains the most brutal on earth, one where any given play can result in paralysis or death. And isn't that what really matters?
Kick off at 820.

It turned out to be an instant classic, with the 44 year Brady (old enough to be the father of virtually everyone on the team) winning the game via a last second drive in the 4th.
NBC - who just lost their shirts thanks to the lowest rated Olympics in history - couldn't have asked for a better game. Or perhaps they're sacrificing children to their dark Gods.
Either way, great game.

Early ratings for the game are in and they're huge - 24 million. And that number will go up after adjustments, and doesn't count views on phones/PCs.
So a massive number for NBC.
