Yeah. Expecting consistency and thinking that invoking the precedent of the "code" from the show trials of the winning side of the war 80 years ago that established the current western world empire probably isn't going to get much traction with the ruling managerial class of that same empire.
Maybe it goes down on their permanent record though, perhaps like a message in a bottle for some future regime to contrast their own noble aims against their own "barbarous" past back in the early 21st century.
Or maybe it's just pissing in the wind.
